Rolled Form: Open vs Closed

Two Different Styles

Rolled form racking is designed with lighter materials and features a teardrop or slotted style that allows for easy adjustability and quick assembly. This type of racking is commonly used in less demanding environments due to its flexibility and relatively lower cost. The back of rolled form racking can either be open or closed. Open-back racking provides greater visibility and access to stored products, making it a popular choice for applications where quick access and visibility are crucial. Closed-back racking, on the other hand, offers more stability and protection, particularly for heavier loads or when additional structural support is needed.

The key difference between open and closed-back rolled form racking lies in the level of protection and support. Closed-back racking typically has panels or braces that connect the uprights at the rear, adding extra stability and preventing items from falling through. Open-back racking, while more cost-effective, doesn’t offer the same level of reinforcement but is often used in warehouses where product rotation and accessibility are top priorities.

What type of Punching?

Tear Drop

Tear drop is the most common of all types. Tear drop rack allows for beams to easily snap into place and is generally available in 3" and 4" column widths with all types of heights.

Keystone

Keystone punch rolled form racking features a unique teardrop-shaped slot that allows for easy adjustability, providing a versatile and durable storage solution for a variety of warehouse applications.

Speedrack

Speedrack punch rolled form racking offers a distinct, strong punch pattern designed for heavy-duty applications, providing high capacity and flexibility for various warehouse storage needs.

T-Bolt

The T-bolt design features a patented connection style that requires only a front-end attachment, significantly reducing labor costs during installation and relocation.
